Inspired by the functional beauty of Japanese cookware, this unique ceramic piece is designed for making fresh tofu. No two molds are the same, as the hand throwing and glazing process creates irreplicable wabi-sabi beauty. Curves soften during the firing process, and glazes take on movement and life of their own.

This piece is glazed in a soft white with a single black circle in the center of the press, symbolizing the quality of yang (energy of the sun) found within yin (energy of the moon). White underglaze painted is on non-glazed portions to create a finished look.

Tofu-Making Essentials

Thoughtfully paired with our ingredients + accessories kit — enjoy 25% off the Tofu-Making Essentials when purchased together.

Each Tofu Mold has three pieces: the base, the press, and the lid, which also serves as a functional bowl.

These ceramic pieces are unique among tofu molds in that their lifespan is measured in decades rather than years — ceramics last indefinitely, versus plastic that degrades, wood that molds, and stainless steel that rusts. Like a cast iron pan, our ceramic tofu molds are designed to last you a lifetime with the proper care.
