Inspired by the functional beauty of Japanese cookware, this unique ceramic piece is designed for making fresh tofu. No two molds are the same, as the hand throwing and glazing process creates irreplicable wabi-sabi beauty. Curves soften during the firing process, and glazes take on movement and life of their own.

This piece is hand-painted with light yellow and bright orange glazes complimented by streaks of white. It has a beautiful variation in the lip of the mold base, accentuated by glaze movement.

This is a studio second (discounted due to cosmetic flaw; see final two photos): An external crack in the lid bowl, just above the base. This feature adds to the character of the piece, and does not affect its function. However, as it somewhat pronounced and therefore requires the piece to be handwashed, it has been discounted.
