Inspired by the functional beauty of Japanese cookware, this unique ceramic piece is designed for making fresh tofu. No two molds are the same, as the hand throwing and glazing process creates irreplicable wabi-sabi beauty. Curves soften during the firing process, and glazes take on movement and life of their own.

This piece is glazed with a light tan on the base and the lid, and an off-white on the press.

This is a studio second (discounted due to cosmetic flaw): minor warping occurred during the firing process, making the mold base and lid somewhat oblong. This feature adds to the character of the piece, but it requires slightly more care in placing the lid onto the base for a proper fit.
